Install 10: How can I deploy Reference Manager to many users/computers?

Answer:

Reference Manager 12: Reference Manager 12 comes with an .MSI file. If you are using the concurrent installer, you can use the following notes.

Reference Manager 12 Workstation Group Policy Deployment- for use with the workstation network installer only.

  1. In your Group Policy Object editor, add InstallRM12W.msi Windows Installer package to the Computer configuration container of the Group Policy Object. Note: Do not assign or publish the installer package to the user configuration container.
  2. Navigate to User Configuration > Windows Settings > Internet Explorer Maintenance > Security Zones. Double click on Content Ratings .
  3. Select the option for Import the Current Security Zones and Privacy Settings and click the Modify Settings button.
  4. Select the Local Intranet zone and click the Sites button.
  5. Add the full domain name and IP address for the server on which RM12.exe resides. Click Close.


Reference Manager 11: The Network version of Reference Manager 11 comes with a .MSI file which can be used for this purpose.

This file is not included with the Single User version of Reference Manager 11.
