21:
Is Reference Manager Citrix or Terminal
server compatible? |
Answer: No version of Reference Manager has been designed or tested with various Terminal Server systems
and we do not provide full support for this
configuration.
We have spoken with users who have been able to run some Reference Manager
in a Terminal Server/Citrix environment. In this environment
everything runs from the server and the computer thinks it is a dumb
terminal, i.e. it is not aware of local resources on the client computer. Every file and
setting that would exist on a normal workstation would have an
analogous location on the server under Terminal Server/Citrix. Note that Reference Manager would interact with Word on the Terminal Server, not on the local client machine.
If the system administrator is familiar with configuring Terminal Servers it may be possible to
make everything work correctly, but note it may require accounts to have more rights on the Terminal Server than the administrator would like. This is not something we provide direct support for.
