3:
I am having problems saving my output style, or after saving the style I am getting errors. How do I fix this? |
Answer:
Reference Manager 12 and later:
Reference Manager 12 stores content files in the common file folder for all users by default. Users typically have permissions to modify these folders, so this issue should not happen.
Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Reference Manager 12
Windows Vista:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reference Manager 12
Reference Manager 11 and earlier:
Your user account may not have proper permissions to the style folder location, which can cause errors. Your network administrators may have also restricted access to this location.
Note: In Windows Vista, without disabling Vista security features, users will not be able to modify or add files to the default directory.
Here are the steps to resolve the problem:
- Quit Reference Manager
-
Open the current Reference Manager folder and copy the style files from the
Styles folder from:
Single User:
C:\Program Files\Reference Manager (n)\Styles
Where (n) is the version number.
Network:
C:\Program Files\Reference Manager (n) Network\Program\Styles
Place a copy of this folder in your "Documents" (called "My Documents" in Windows 2000/XP) folder, or any location where you
have full read-write access. When working with styles, click the "..." button to browse to this location.
