Reference Manager 12.0.1 Update
 

The update is available to Reference Manager 12 users and includes improvements that allow you to work more efficiently.

  • Insert Reference IDs for intext citations quickly and format the bibliography at a later time.
  • Use Reference Manager 12 with Track Changes in Word—improved compatibility with Comments.
  • Save time with Reference Manager 12 keyboard shortcuts that now work in both Word and Reference Manager.
  • Cite While You Write™ in Microsoft® Word on 64-bit computers—eliminate the slowness when switching between applications.
  • Format documents in Word 2007 without interruption—the refocus on the bibliography is corrected.
  • Set Cite While You Write™ "Preferences" to close Reference Manager when closing Word.
 
The 12.0.1 patch will update an existing installation of Reference Manager 12 to 12.0.1. Another option is to open Reference Manager 12 and go to the Help Menu and choose "Updates" to install the update.
 
Download Instructions
Single User and Network version:
  1. Click on the Download link below. Save the file to your hard drive. Close all other programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software. You can also use Help>Updates in Reference Manager to install the update.

    NOTE: Be sure to disable Web Publisher within Reference Manager before attempting to update.

  2. Double click on the downloaded Zip file to view the contents. Extract the RM1201Patch.msp to your desktop.
  3. Double click on the RM1201Patch.msp to automatically install the update.

Concurrent version:
  1. Click on the Download link below. Save the file to your hard drive. Close all other programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software.You can also use "Start Menu->Programs->Reference Manager 12 Network->Update Reference Manager 12 Network" to install the update.

    NOTE: Be sure to disable Web Publisher within Reference Manager before attempting to update.

  2. Double click on the downloaded Zip file to view the contents. Extract the RM1201NetPatch.msp and UpdateRMW.bat files to your desktop.
  3. Double click on the RM1201NetPatch.msp to automatically install the update on the server that the server component is installed on. Make sure you are logged in as the account the server component was installed with.
  4. To update the individual workstation you will need to do one of 2 things, depending on how it was deployed.


If Reference Manager 12 Concurrent Workstation was installed using GPO

  • Open the RM 12_NET GPO, right click the software package “Reference Manager 12 Workstation” and select “All Tasks: Redeploy application”
  • This will reinstall the managed software “Reference Manager 12 Workstation” on the next reboot once it is acknowledged.

If Reference Manager 12 Concurrent Workstation was installed by running InstallRM12W logged into the individual computer

msiexec.exe /fa {8BCAC105-C501-41F9-AED3-587024ABCA8C}
  • This should update this computer. This would need to be done on each workstation. Note you can also add this command to any script you like to update each workstation. Note this would only need to be run one time.
